Greetings BAIA Fam,<\/span><\/p>\n

I am writing to inform you of an <\/span>important update for The Tipping Point submissions<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Tipping Point: The Moment That Made The Difference\u201d is<\/span> an upcoming series coming to <\/span>blackartinamerica.com<\/b> that will put the spotlight on you, our contemporary artists. The idea is to provide a forum for you to tell readers about that \u201cmake or break\u201d moment that either defined you as an artist or took your art to the next level.<\/span><\/p>\n

For <\/span>Item 4<\/b> of the submissions process (see below), we have decided to do this portion as an <\/span>audio <\/b>segment rather than a written one.\u00a0 This way, artists can tell their own Tipping Point stories in their own voice.<\/span><\/p>\n

For those who have already submitted a written response to Item 4, no worries. Simply record yourself reading your written version and submit, and we will add it to your photo and artwork.<\/span><\/p>\n

Please review the updated criteria below.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what we need from you:<\/span><\/p>\n

1)\u00a0a short bio\u00a0(no more than 150 words; may be edited)<\/span><\/p>\n

2) an image of one select work\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

3) a picture of you (preferably in the studio)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As you know, since 2010, BAIA has documented, preserved, and promoted the contributions of the African American visual arts community. This latest offering of\u00a0<\/span>The Tipping Point\u00a0<\/b>will further our mission by promoting contemporary artists such as yourselves while informing our readers of your unique path to becoming an artist.<\/span><\/p>\n
