Aretha<\/p>\n
There is a reason
\nPoets write
\nabout her
\nPhotographers took pictures
\nof her
\nFamous people sought autographs
\nfrom her
\nPreachers were an opening act
\nfor her
\nSingers sought answers
\ninside her
\nMusicians asked God for a gig
\nwith her
\nParents danced in the living room
\nto her
\nWomen heard their stories
\nin her
\nMen heard women
\nthrough her
\nThe powerful wanted to stand
\nby her
\nThose needing freedom marched beside her
\nSongs wanted to be written
\nbecause of her
\nPoems are written
\nabout her
\nSo those born
\nwithout her
\nwill know
\nwhy we call it soul music<\/p>\n
