The inaugural\u00a0Black Fine Art Fair of Ohio<\/span><\/a>\u00a0will be held November 11 -14 at\u00a0345 E. Fifth Ave<\/a><\/span>. in Columbus.\u00a0\u00a0The Fair, hosted by\u00a0KBK Foundation<\/a><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0Golden Galleries<\/a><\/span>, is the first of a series of planned national Black art fairs.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The show will feature works by recognized Black masters, as well as works by contemporary Black artists.\u00a0\u00a0The Ohio State University<\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u2013 Office of<\/span> Diversity & Inclusion<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is the strategic partner for the Columbus Fair.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Black Fine Art Fair is free to attendees. Special guest for the event will be\u00a0Curlee Raven Holton\u00a0who will be part of a conversation about developing your art portfolio and considerations for the proper dispensation of your art works.<\/div>\n

Holton, an Ohio native son, wears many hats. He is a retired professor from Lafayette College;\u00a0 Founder of\u00a0Raven Fine Art Editions<\/a><\/span>, for which he makes prints of artworks by David Driskell, Willie Cole, Faith Ringgold, Danny Simmons and others; and served as Executive Director of the David C. Driskell Center for the Study of the Visual Arts and Culture of African Americans and the African Diaspora at University of Maryland, College Park.<\/div>\n

Artist \/Master Printmaker Holton\u2019s\u00a0creative practice affirms his\u00a0raison d\u2019etre.\u00a0His under-\u00a0standing of what it means to be an agent of contemplation, spirit, intellect and skill is clearly revealed in\u00a0his imaginative work and in his ability to articulate both content and subject matter to the viewer. His\u00a0expert skills as painter and printmaker pair to intro-\u00a0duce new ways of seeing for visual audiences. As a seasoned professional and mentor, he has exhibited internationally for more than 35 years and engaged a wide range of creative aspirants.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
