As part of its ongoing collaboration with international fashion brand, Zadig and Voltaire, Black Art In America (BAIA) is thrilled to announce the multitalented Daphne Arthur as the latest featured artist for Zadig and Voltaire’s Art Is Hope campaign. A profile of Arthur—who combines painting, sculpture, drawing, and collage while tackling issues of race, gender, religion, and identity—currently appears at the luxury streetwear company’s website and includes a Q&A with the New York City-based artist. Congratulations to Daphne Arthur for her much-deserved selection, her artistic vision, and her ongoing push for social change.
Through their Art is Hope campaign, Zadig & Voltaire supports local artists and communities by “bringing awareness to organizations that augment the state of communities around them.” As a result of the Art is Hope campaign, Black Art In America has received proceeds from the monthly sale of participating items along with funding for BAIA’s recruitment of Black art educators.
