Black Art in America, 1802 Connally Drive, East Point, Ga 30344

EAST POINT, Georgia (May 5, 2022) – BLACK ART IN AMERICA™ (BAIA), the leading multifaceted arts company focused on African American Art in the nation, proudly announces the upcoming grand opening of its new headquarters and art complex located at 1802 Connally Drive in East Point, GA. The three-day event, set for June 17-19, will include a private VIP event for collectors and sponsors on Friday followed by a full weekend schedule of events, art exhibitions, art talks, and entertainment open to the public.

The fully renovated building that is now home to Black Art In America Gallery & Sculpture Garden sits on nearly an acre of land adorned by a sculpture garden featuring works by nationally acclaimed artists. The complex boasts event spaces, art lounges, a gift shop, jazz deck, and much more. In addition to being a full-service fine art gallery, BAIA offers a variety of programs, salons, and community engagement opportunities. BAIA CEO, Najee Dorsey, is proud to bring the popular company to the City of East Point for the enjoyment of the community, tourists, community partners, and businesses from across the country.

Come for the art, hang in the garden. Garden manger Riyah with summer garden interns, Jasmine and Wanza, both students from Spelman College.

“Black Art in America Gallery and Sculpture Garden is a dream come true,” recently offered Dorsey, who founded BAIA in 2010 with wife, Seteria. “Seteria and I wanted to create a unique space that celebrates our love and commitment to Black Visual Culture and share that success with those who love and appreciate art.”

Among the artwork dotting the exterior of the complex are public art murals by Atlanta based artists Fabian Williams and Charmaine Minniefield as well as a selection of Garden Art for the Soul, Black Art in America’s flagship collection depicting vivid images of African American culture, history, and everyday life. The popular Garden Art collection includes work from some of the country’s top Black visual artists including Frank Frazier, Phyllis Stephens, Stacey Brown, Sonja Griffin Evans, and BAIA’s Najee Dorsey.

Tiffany LaTrice, tila studios, “There is not a space like this in South Atlanta or the city for that matter. It’s a space that showcases black art in all of its elements – gallery, garden, and sculptures, public art, in such a dynamic way that every corner is a moment to enjoy. I am excited that this premiere and necessary organization and gallery is coming to a community that needs a black art center. Being just a few minutes from Tyler Perry studios and the Atlanta airport is going to revitalize the area and bring new magic that honors our heritage and our history.”

Black Art in America is currently offering naming opportunities to honor community leaders, family members, and businesses that add value to the lives of others. Along with community programming and artist residencies, the facility will play a key role in the activities of The Black Art in America Foundation whose mission is to facilitate the growth of artists while cultivating relationships that bring Black artists and communities together.
