This is a tour-de-force of: amalgamating our Arts, Culture and Humanities (ACH) history; the present state of our participation in the fine visual and plastic arts enterprise; and her distinctive prophetic voice as guide to our better future leveraging our creatives. Thanks to BAIA for delivering this essay. Thank you Ms. Debra for the clarity and articulation of your self-endowment messaging to us.

Artists and collectors of African and African American art must remember who we are to each other while engaged in culture and meaning majing. The tools for seeing through the distractions and noises that occur every day beamed at us to create confusion and disruption exist. We just gave to use them. The Alaine Locke and Arthur Schomburg models are documented and are available for use as models fir maintaining memory and meaning as we forage into this briar patch. Our destiny is not dependent on other’s acceptance of us. That will never happen. Our destiny remains on our self reliance. Inclusion should not result in confusion.
